Artist Statement

I spend most of my current time working from life - but I also hold interests within mythology and imagination, which I use to reinforce my expressions about truths and ideas.  

I'm very inspired by color and interested in the created spaces and relationships between juxtaposed color forms; how they create light and shadow in a space. All of my work has a strong compositional element likened to a photographer's impression.

I want the painting to breathe.   I want the viewer's eye, to not only flow through the work but to be lead into the work as well, to feel the room to move about within the painting.   I am very interested in the possibilities that can be derived from implementing this skill.
